Rahael oversees our BASS project, which aims to break cultural and social barriers to stroke care and to shed light on the heightened risk of stroke among Black and South Asian individuals, especially at a younger age.
She recently visited the Sri Guru Singh Sabha Gurdwara in Southall. Here, she engaged with the local community to raise awareness of increased stroke risk and the work of Different Strokes.
Rahael even took to the stage recently at the Special Guest open mic night in Shoreditch, London. Her message resonated, spreading awareness about FAST, a critical aspect of stroke recognition and care.
In August, Rahael gathered with the fantastic group of volunteers who support this project to discuss our plans for 2024 and beyond! We are so grateful for their input and we look forward to sharing more about this in the future.
Different Strokes’ Fundraising Manager, Jo, had a very busy week at the start of September, not only did she organise and run our annual abseil event, but she also spent three days representing Different Strokes at the Stroke Alliance for Europe members’ meetings in Rome.
