Join Our Next Free Webinar: Parenting After Stroke

Parenting after stroke

Parenting is challenging at the best of times, and parenting after a stroke can bring a whole new set of questions, emotions, and practical hurdles. It’s something our community asks about often, and many parents tell us they wish they had heard more lived experiences when they were first finding their feet again.

That’s why we’re hosting a free webinar on Wednesday 3rd December at 10.30am, dedicated entirely to parenting after a stroke. This session brings together a panel of stroke survivors to share honest reflections, lessons learned, and the moments that shaped their family’s journey.

Whether you’re parenting a newborn or navigating life with teenagers, this webinar offers reassurance that you’re not alone. You’ll hear stories from parents at different stages and family setups, each offering their own perspective on adapting, supporting children emotionally, managing fatigue, returning to routines, and rediscovering confidence.

Meet the Panel

Rahael – Mum to a one-year-old
Rahael had her stroke at 22 and later became pregnant. She’ll be sharing her experience of pregnancy and early parenthood after stroke, and how she navigated those early months.

Susie – Mum to children who were 11 weeks, 6 and 8 at the time
Susie had her stroke in 2023. She lives with right-sided paralysis, uses FES, and is now a single parent. She’ll talk about practical adaptations, finding strength in unexpected places, and supporting young children during recovery.

Andy – Dad to three (aged 11, 14 & 16 at the time)
Andy had his stroke in 2019 aged 46 while camping with his son. He will share how stroke affected family life with older children and what helped them adjust.
