6 Ways you Can Support Different Strokes at Christmas

Christmas is a time of reflection, a time for giving and receiving, and this Christmas we invite you to support the work of Different Strokes in a variety of ways. We recognise that not everyone has the ability to give financially, so we have tried to include options – no matter your budget.

Since 1996 we have been supporting younger stroke survivors and their families with tailored information, peer support and access to exercise. In 2022 and beyond we have an ambitious plan to make younger stroke a priority and to do this we need all the help we can get! As a small charity with no government funding we rely on the generosity and kindness of our supporters to ensure we can continue our vital work.

Here are six ways you can support us this Christmas:

Hold a Mince Pie Monday event

On Monday 13th December 2021 we invite you to gather your people for some light hearted fun, put the kettle on, make or buy a few mince pies and even heat up some mulled wine and warm your cockles – all for a good cause!

Purchase cards or gifts from our shop

We recently stocked our shop with some beautiful Christmas cards and presents. The great news is that proceeds from every sale support our work.  So you can get organised and make a difference at the same time whilst shopping this Christmas!

Give as you shop

Did you know we have affiliate arrangements with a number or shopping outlets?

Shop at Amazon or eBay and a proportion of what you spend can be donated to Different Strokes at no cost to you. Take a few easy steps to get this set up.

Give a one off donation

If you like to give a one off donation at this time of year, perhaps in place of sending cards or gifts, you can make a secure donation via our website. For every £1 donated we can provide £4 of services for younger stroke survivors and their families.

Sign up for a monthly pledge

If you would like to make a longer lasting commitment to making younger stroke a priority you can do this by setting up a monthly direct debit. Our monthly donors are a big part of providing us security as a charity and allow us to plan longer term projects and commitments which benefit younger stroke survivors.

Enquire about becoming an ambassador

As part of making younger stroke a priority we want to recruit a nationwide network of volunteer ambassadors. These ambassadors will be using their own voices and experiences of stroke to raise awareness and influence change in their local communities.

If you have some time to commit in 2022 and beyond then we would love to hear from you.
