With World Stroke Day only a week away on Tuesday, 29th October 2024, we’re reaching out to ask for your support in making this year’s campaign impactful.
Our “Together After Stroke” campaign focuses on the power of peer support in stroke recovery – because we know how life-changing it can be to connect with others who understand the challenges of stroke recovery.
Different Strokes was founded by a younger stroke survivor, for survivors. Over the years, we’ve built a community where thousands of people have found hope, guidance, and strength through those who have walked the same path. But we can’t do this alone – we need your help to continue spreading the message.
How You Can Get Involved:
1. Share Your Story:
Your experiences can educate and inspire others on #WorldStrokeDay, whether it’s your personal story, raising awareness that stroke can happen at any age #NotJustTheElderly or sharing how the support of fellow stroke survivors has impacted your own recovery #TogetherAfterStroke.
Tag us in your posts or use the hashtags #TogetherAfterStroke and #NotJustTheElderly
We will be sharing posts from our community on our social media all day!
Have you got a powerful story about how the support of a fellow stroke survivor has helped your recovery? If so, we would love to hear from you – please email lauren.hartney@differentstrokes.co.uk
2. Share Our Posts On World Stroke Day:
We are a small charity with a small marketing budget. You can make a HUGE difference by engaging, sharing posts and spreading the word! By working together and amplifying these messages, we can reach more people and raise greater awareness!
3. Tell Us Your Plans:
If you are a Different Strokes volunteer taking part in an event on World Stroke Day, we want to hear from you! You can also tag us in your pictures or posts on the day!
4. Donate:
As a small charity, we rely on the generosity of people like you to keep providing vital support to stroke survivors and their families.
You can make a donation here: https://differentstrokes.co.uk/donate/
Every contribution, no matter how small, makes a big difference.
5. Help Us To Reach More Survivors
Many stroke survivors wish they had known about our community sooner. You can help by taking our leaflets to your local stroke ward or GP surgery. If you’re able to help, please sign up, and we’ll send out leaflet packs throughout November.
You can sign up to receive leaflets here: https://differentstrokes.co.uk/wsd-leaflet-campaign
Together, We Can Make a Difference
World Stroke Day is a chance to show that stroke recovery doesn’t have to be a journey taken alone. Together, we can make sure that more survivors get the help, support, and hope they deserve.
