We Welcome New Trustees Chris & John

We are delighted to have recruited two new trustees to join our board. After an extensive recruitment process, Chris Henry and John Hunt have been appointed as trustees, and they both bring with them a great deal of experience and expertise which will be highly beneficial to the charity.

Meet Chris

Chris is currently Head of HR at the Museum of London Archaeology – a commercial archaeological firm that provides archaeological services to developers throughout the UK. Before joining MOLA he worked in both the not-for-profit and public sectors in various HR roles for The Pensions Ombudsman, Asthma UK, and The Prince’s Trust. He also spent five years working for The Stroke Association.

Chris has an MA and BA in Human Resources Management from London Metropolitan University and Keele University respectively, and is a member of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Development.

Meet John

John is a Welsh climate change scientist and geologist. At the age of 42, he had a haemorrhagic stroke which left him with left-sided hemiplegic paralysis and multiple physical and cognitive impairments. He feels that life post-stroke has been defined by a drive to try to regain a sense of identity and purpose and to be a constructive member of society.

John has become a well-known figure in the disability movement in Wales. He is the disability Labour liaison Officer to the Welsh Assembly and Disability Officer for LGBTQ+ Labour Wales. He has set up and run Blaenavon Wheelers, a community mobility group, and through this runs a foodshare project. He is also a Director of Fare Share Cymru and has recently been appointed by Welsh government to the Boards of Brecon Beacons National Park, the National Museum of Wales and the community Health council.
