Mez Joins The Team

Introducing Mez Khan: A New Force for Raising Awareness at Different Strokes Charity

In response to feedback from our community, We have been steadfastly focusing on increasing awareness of younger stroke and bolstering awareness of the services that we offer. We are thrilled to welcome Mez Khan to our team as our new Marketing Assistant to help us in this mission.

Mez joins us with a profound passion for digital marketing and a determination to make a meaningful impact. With a diverse background spanning various industries, Mez’s affinity for the charity sector has been a driving force in her career choices. Having experienced the effects of stroke within her family, she felt a compelling connection to the vision and values of Different Strokes.

We caught up with Mez to find out more about her!

Mez says:

“I’m really excited to be joining the charity, I’m passionate about digital marketing and eager to make a positive difference. I have worked in various industries but I’ve always been drawn back to the charity sector.

Given my family’s medical history, Different Strokes feels like a perfect fit. While I haven’t personally experienced a stroke, I’ve unfortunately lost multiple family members to it. My aunt, who survived a stroke after losing her husband to one, continues to inspire me with her journey toward recovery.

I live in West Yorkshire and coming from a big family, my free time is filled with get-togethers and activities. I’m a cinephile and pop culture enthusiast, brimming with useless knowledge—unless it’s for a pub quiz!

With a decade of marketing experience, I specialise in assisting organisations with digital strategies and also work as a freelance social media manager, focusing on empowering female entrepreneurs of colour. Everything the charity has been doing is incredible, and my main goal at Different Strokes is simple: ensure more people are aware of the help and support the charity provides.”

With Mez on board, we are poised to enhance our outreach and engagement efforts with the ultimate goal of ensuring no stroke survivor faces recovery alone. Stay tuned to witness Mez’s contributions on our social media channels and the positive changes she’ll bring to Different Strokes.
