A new brain injury podcast called On A Good Day has launched to support carers and family of brain injury survivors navigate the life-changing event.

The hosts of On A Good Day, Julia Ajayi and Elizabeth Callaghan, both have husbands who suffered brain injuries in their thirties.

Through their friendship, they’ve recognised the importance of helping others in a similar situation. Realising there wasn’t a brain injury podcast which focused on the partners, carers and wider family and friends surrounding a brain injury survivor, On A Good Day was born.

Elizabeth said: “Our podcast is something that I would like to have listened to, right back when my husband, Paul, first had his stroke in 2018. Brain injury changes your life in an instant and there’s no guidebook on how to deal with it. We want to help create one!”

“On a Good Day will shine a light on what it means to live with someone who has a brain injury, sharing some of our stories and strategies but also getting as much knowledge as we can from our guests who are experts in the field of brain injury or who have been impacted in some way by brain injury.

“I have already learnt so much from the episodes we have recorded so far.”

In episode 2, Different Strokes incredible trustee, Dr. Satinder Sanghera, talks about her recovery from a brain injury when she was 20 years old. Despite the odds, she went on to complete her medical exams and has lived a very fulfilled life giving advice on how fellow brain injury survivors want to be treated.

Julia said: On a Good Day takes a unique look at the issues surrounding brain injury from our perspective as carers. We know that sharing and talking can help us all be our best selves as we face new challenges.

“Elizabeth and I have formed a new friendship and through this supported each other and now we want to widen out this support network and On a Good Day is the start of this journey.”

On a Good Day is available to listen to now on Apple and Spotify.

It is part of the Auddy podcast platform
