We are delighted to have received two grants recently to support Different Strokes’ regional work in the West Yorkshire area. The Sovereign Health Care Board, who have supported us for a number of years, have provided us with a further grant of £3,000, while we have also received funding of £1,500 from the George A Moore Foundation.
These funds will be crucial to help us to facilitate peer support amongst stroke survivors in the local area. They will help support our Regional Co-ordinator for the area, Geoff Render, who had a stroke aged 36, to raise awareness of younger stroke and to increase the profile of our charity through his outreach work with local hospitals and by liaising with the regional Integrated Stroke Delivery Network.

The George A. Moore Foundation was founded in 1970 by Mr. Moore, initially as a welfare fund for the hundreds of people employed in his factories. This well-respected grant making charity continues to operate from the monies which were privately invested by the Moore family.
