Exercise Session Update – August 2020

We’re making a few changes to our exercise sessions.

From Monday 17th August these will no longer be live, but they will continue to be made available from 11.00 each weekday morning.

Please see the video below for more details:

Level 1 sessions at 11.00 on Mondays will be with Rhiannon, a sports therapist from PhysioFunction.  They are designed for people with very restricted movement on their affected side, and are all seated exercises.  Level 1 exercisers REQUIRE carers or family members to assist during the class.

Level 2 sessions at 11.00 on Tuesdays will be with Anthony, a personal trainer and stroke survivor.  They are designed for people who can move their affected side slightly but not fully, and are mainly seated exercises.  For the standing exercises, a walking frame or transfer assist device (rotunda / rotastand / return stand) will be required.  Level 2 exercisers REQUIRE carers or family members to assist during the class.

Level 3 sessions at 11.00 on Wednesdays will be with Rhiannon.  They will be a mixture of seated and standing exercises, designed for people who can move their affected leg reasonably well but may have restricted movement in their affected arm.  A sturdy upright chair should be available to assist with your balance.  Level 3 exercisers REQUIRE carers or family members to SUPERVISE during the class.

Level 4 sessions at 11.00 on Thursdays will be with Matt from Brinkley Physical Therapy.  This session is for exercisers who can walk independently with a stick or a trekking pole indoors, and outdoors on even surfaces.

Level 5 sessions at 11.00 on Fridays will be with Anthony.  This is the most challenging class, designed for people who can walk independently without a waking aid, and who do not get fatigued after long walking.
