We proudly introduce our new Information Officer, Lily Jennings.
“I’m Lily, and I’m thrilled to be joining Different Strokes as the new Information Officer!
Originally I’m from the North Lake District; I now live in Cambridgeshire and I enjoy hiking, wild swimming, mountain biking, and crochet! I graduated from the University of Cambridge with a degree in Social and Political Science and have a solid background in research, digital content creation, and community engagement.
I’ve spent a lot of time working with an outdoor education charity where I coordinated, fundraised for, and delivered projects for children and young people facing challenges. This experience gave me insight into a vast range of social barriers and sparked my passion for meaningful work.
On a personal level, my dad suffered two debilitating strokes, which has given me a deep understanding of the challenges stroke survivors face.
I’m passionate about making high-quality, accessible information available to those who need it most, and I’m excited to contribute to Different Strokes’ mission. I look forward to being part of a team that values stroke survivors as experts in their own experiences and making a real difference in their lives.”
Lily’s role will involve working with our community to update all of our information packs for survivors and their families.
“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Lily to the Different Strokes team,” says Lauren Hartney, Marketing Manager. “She brings a wealth of experience from the charity sector, as well as personal insight as the child of a younger stroke survivor. Over the next twelve months, Lily will be working closely with our community to update our information booklets, making sure they are accessible, useful, and truly reflect the needs of the people we serve”
