Volunteering FAQ
How old do I need to be to volunteer?
Most of our volunteer roles are for those aged 18 and over.
How much time would I need to commit to volunteering?
This varies from role to role. Some roles will need a regular commitment whilst others may be on a more ad-hoc basis. This is something that would be discussed and agreed with you during the application process.
Do I get paid?
You will not be paid for volunteering but you can be reimbursed for out of pocket expenses such as travel costs.
How do I apply to be a Different Strokes Volunteer?
Look at our current opportunities HERE and if there is a role you are interested in, please complete and return our Volunteer Application form.
What is your recruitment process like?
Once we have received a Volunteer Application form, we will contact you to arrange an informal chat which can be in-person, over the phone or on Zoom. The purpose of this chat is to find out more about you, tell you more about the role and assess suitability for the role. We require details of two responsible people, who are not related to the applicant, and have known you for a minimum of two years who would be willing to provide a written reference.
