Maya was 43 when she had a stroke in November 2021, and her life changed overnight. A busy working parent, she shares her honest experience of recovery, including the impact of fatigue on her career and family life.
Filmed at a Different Strokes in-person community event, Maya reflects on the challenges she’s faced, the importance of meeting others who truly understand, and the moment that helped her see a way forward. In this video, she also shares her advice for fellow stroke survivors and how owning her story is shaping what comes next.
