Slater and Gordon is one of the UK’s leading national law firms for serious injury compensation claims. We are a national firm but have lawyers based locally around the country.
We have partnered with Different Strokes, an organisation whose mission to support younger stroke survivors closely aligns with our commitment to helping people navigate life after serious injury. Together, we aim to strengthen awareness, signpost support, and contribute to improving outcomes for those affected by stroke across the UK.
“We are really pleased to be working with Slater and Gordon and look forward to building a strong relationship with the team. “As well as the more formal arrangement of Slater and Gordon being part of our legal panel, we look forward to holding training sessions and legal clinics, which will enable us to offer even more to our survivors and families.”
Austin Willett, CEO of Different Strokes
“For 30 years, Different Strokes has been changing the lives of survivors who suffer a stroke in their younger years. Its work is genuinely life-changing for whole families, and its support can make a tremendous difference to people’s outlook and potential.”

How Slater and Gordon Can Help
Navigating life after a stroke can be overwhelming, especially when unexpected legal questions arise. Many people who turn to Different Strokes have never needed legal support before and may not know where to start.
Through our partnership, Slater and Gordon aims to make that journey clearer, calmer and more manageable.
- We will work alongside Different Strokes to deliver practical education sessions for the charity’s team and the community it supports. These sessions are designed to explain the kinds of legal challenges younger stroke survivors may face. From employment changes and returning to work, to issues affecting family life, education, housing and long‑term care.
- We will also run legal clinics where individuals can speak directly with a specialist solicitor. These clinics provide an opportunity to ask questions, understand your rights and explore your options without pressure or expectation. The aim is simply to help you make informed decisions at a time when life can feel uncertain
- As part of our wider support, Slater and Gordon will co‑sponsor the Different Strokes Annual Conference in July 2026. This event brings together survivors, families and professionals to share lived experience, expert insight and practical tools for recovery, strengthening the support network available across the UK.
Our role in this partnership is to help remove barriers, offer clarity when it’s needed most and ensure that every younger stroke survivor feels informed and supported as they move forward.
