On Saturday, 28th September, a fantastic group of 12 participants, including members of the stroke survivor community, took on the exciting challenge of abseiling down the Northampton Lift Tower – the world’s tallest abseil tower at 418 feet.
From the bottom, the top looked almost unreachable, but with determination and a sense of adventure, each team member faced their fears and made the thrilling descent. It was an unforgettable experience for everyone involved, filled with a mix of excitement, nerves, and personal triumph.
This event wasn’t just about the adrenaline rush, though—it was also about raising money to support a cause close to all our hearts.
Together, the team raised an impressive total of nearly £5,000. The funds raised will go a long way in helping Different Strokes continue providing essential services and support to younger stroke survivors.
A heartfelt thank you goes out to each participant for their dedication and to everyone who donated—you’ve truly made a difference.
We hope each of our brave participants feels proud of what they’ve accomplished, not just in completing the abseil, but in contributing to a cause that will positively impact the lives of many. If you’ve been inspired by this year’s event, we’d love for you to get involved in next year’s challenge. It’s a perfect opportunity to push yourself out of your comfort zone, have some fun, and help make a real difference in the stroke survivor community.
Once again, a big thank you to everyone who made the day so special. We can’t wait to see even more of you join us for next year’s abseil challenge!
