After the resounding success of our in-person events last Autumn, we’re thrilled to announce three more conferences for our stroke community this year.

Join us at one of our “Living Beyond Stroke: Community and Connection” conferences, where we celebrate life after stroke and the importance of community.

These events are designed to bring stroke survivors and their loved ones together to share stories, gain insights, and build lasting connections.

Life after stroke can be challenging, but with the right support, you can navigate the journey with confidence and hope.

Event Timing: All events will run from approximately 10:00 AM to 3:30 PM.

What to Expect:

Share Stories: Connect with fellow stroke survivors and share your experiences.
Discussion Groups: Participate in engaging sessions on topics like post-stroke fatigue, work after stroke, aphasia, caregiving, health & wellbeing, and more. Note that not all sessions will be available at all venues, and you will select your preferred groups during booking.
Hear from Our CEO: Austin Willett, Different Strokes CEO, will discuss our latest priorities.
Exhibition: Explore our exhibition and engage with organisations supporting stroke survivors.

Our Inspirational Speakers:

Sheffield: Anthony Bryan

Anthony’s journey as a stroke survivor began at the tender age of six, following surgery to remove a brain tumour that left him with hemiplegia on the left side of his body.

In 2024 he broke the Guinness World Record for the fastest marathon run by someone with hemiplegia.

Slough: Emily White

Emily suffered an ischemic stroke at 22 years old, following an everyday run.

As Emily now trains to become a Solicitor at Bolt Burdon Kemp (BBK), her firsthand experiences drive her passion for medico-legal work.

Birmingham: Ingrid Ash

Ingrid’s life changed dramatically in 2007, when pregnant with her second daughter, she suffered a multi-focal stroke.

She has since founded the Different Strokes Birmingham support group and serves on the Stroke Engagement Group at her local hospital. She also educates healthcare professionals on stroke patient challenges
