On Saturday 12 April, an incredible team of runners took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon, making their way through some of the capital’s most well-known streets and landmarks.
This year, 21 runners and 2 companion runners came together to support Different Strokes. Many had been training for months in preparation for the event, showing real commitment and determination to reach the start line.
Together, they raised an amazing £22,208 (including Gift Aid) to support younger stroke survivors and their families.
A day to remember
The London Landmarks Half Marathon is always a special event, and this year was no different.
For many runners, it was their first time taking part. Others were running for personal reasons, shaped by their own experiences or those of someone close to them.
There was a real sense of energy and support throughout the day, with runners sharing how much the experience meant to them:
“Loved the event, it was amazing for the first one. What a vibe.”
“I just wanted to say a huge thank you for the place. It was such a pleasure to run for Different Strokes.”
“What an amazing event it was. I truly had the best time and I am so grateful for the opportunity.”
“It was very emotional crossing the finish line. It kind of came upon me really quickly in the end. A brilliant day.”
“Still buzzing from Sunday.”
More than a race
For many of our runners, crossing the finish line was about more than completing 13.1 miles.
It was about setting a goal, showing what’s possible, and being part of something bigger. Every step taken helped raise awareness of life after stroke, while also supporting the work we do every day.
The funds raised will help us continue providing peer support, information and services for younger stroke survivors and their families.
Thank you
We are so grateful to every runner who took part, as well as everyone who supported, donated or cheered from the sidelines.
Your efforts make a real difference.
