Saturday the 14^th 2019 proved to be a memorable day for everybody involved in the Different Strokes abseil. Despite the nerves and fear everyone was in high spirits and raring to go. We are in awe of the bravery shown by everyone who took part in what is simply quite terrifying! This is the third abseil event held by Different Strokes and it has become apparent that this event is more than just raising money, it’s about getting our community of stroke survivors and supporters together, it’s about facing fears, overcoming barriers and for saying ‘I can do this’. 

Thank you to everyone who made the journey to London to take part and the endless weeks of pestering for sponsorship and throwing yourself off a really tall structure. I promise you it was worth it as the almost £14k raised will truly make a difference to younger stroke survivors and their families. Also a big thank you to the people who volunteered their time to help support the event – Nigel Paling, Scarlett Paling, James McNulty & Jason Turnbull – You were absolute stars!!
