2020 has got off to a great start for Different Strokes, thanks to a £25,000 grant from the Garfield Weston Foundation. The funds will go towards supporting our core services and helping develop some new initiatives that we are planning for this year.
Austin Willett, CEO, commented ‘We are so grateful for this support from the Garfield Weston Foundation, which will benefit us greatly in our ongoing work of supporting working age and younger stroke survivors. We have ambitious plans for this year, including the launch of our teen & young adult befriending service, enhancing our ambassador programme and holding a number of events, as well as continuing to provide the best service that we can to stroke survivors through our groups, by telephone, by post and online. We are therefore delighted to once again have the value of our work recognised by the Garfield Weston Foundation, and are so appreciative of their very generous donation.’
