David Undertakes the Great North Run Four Years After Life-Changing Stroke.

Four years ago aged just 46, David Merrigan had a stroke. This weekend he travelled up to Newcastle to take part in the Great North Run to raise fund’s for Different Strokes. He said:

“My plan was to run the first couple of miles and walk the rest, but once I started the atmosphere, cheering crowds and the fact that I was in fancy dress made it much easier than I’d expected and I ran the whole way.

Since my stroke it’s been a very difficult time, I feel lucky it didn’t effectme physically, but I still suffer with some cognitive issues.

Two things have really helped me recover, running and Different Strokes. Please help and sponsor me.”
