Bolt Burdon Kemp is honoured to be partnering with Different Strokes, an organisation that aligns perfectly with our approach to post-stroke support & rehabilitation. We are proud to be sponsoring new projects and events in 2023/2024.
We know from our clients how frightening having a stroke can be, especially at an age when it is entirely unexpected. We provide an expert and genuinely supportive approach to guiding younger stroke survivors through the legal process, to secure the compensation that will enable them to rebuild their lives.
We know that younger people who have had a stroke are likely to have greater unmet needs than the older post-stroke population. This is because they are more likely to:
- Have an unusual cause of their stroke
- Have childcare responsibilities
- Be working at the time of their stroke
- Have higher expectations for their recovery
We give important consideration to these factors for our clients, ensuring that the case is progressed without delay, and that post-acute specialised rehabilitation is accessed at the earliest possible opportunity.
We can assist clients who have ongoing stroke difficulties that were caused or contributed to by medical negligence or an accident. This can include things like:
- Substandard monitoring and/or treatment of high blood pressure
- Missed symptoms of stroke upon seeking medical advice
- Delayed diagnosis or treatment of a stroke
- Stroke following head or neck injury from an accident
We also campaign to increase awareness about young stroke and to improve diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation for younger people who have had a stroke.
