On Thursday 12th April we held an open day in West Yorkshire. The day was held at Boddington Hall in Leeds and we enjoyed an hours cycling on the Brownlee Cycle circuit. Around 30 people came many people were from Different Strokes groups in the north.
Our groups in Bradford,Preston, York, Leeds and Carlisle attended. We had people from various organisations at the event and we engaged in discussions about services for stroke survivors. It seems it was a good experience for everyone.
At lunchtime we had cycling which wheels for fun organised to get on the bikes and trikes whilst others had lunch which was lovely range of food. In the afternoon Austin from Different Strokes head office discussed his new role and updated us on all things Different Strokes. we used the
opportunity to ensure group co-ordinators and members could talk about their groups and share experiences. We plan to have another meet up in 6 months time and will let you know information nearer the time.
