We have previously shared with you that exciting changes are happening following on from the sustainability project which completed last month. Thanks to funding from this project we are excited to announce that Different Strokes 21st Birthday this month kick starts a year of growth and development for the charity and as part of this we will launch our new website on 31st July 2017.
As part of this we have been working hard to ensure that Different strokes is sustainable so we can continue to provide support to our beneficiaries for many years to come. You will see a change in our brand which has been updated to, not only give a fresh look but to also ensure it properly represents the professionalism in all that we do and deliver thereby increasing our visibility, reaching, and raising awareness of Different Strokes and the impact of our services and support.
It would be very easy to take for granted the commitment and effort given to deliver the project through from application in July 2015 to conclusion. It is worth reminding ourselves that our Sustainability Fund application, which considered all aspects of our business model, as well as what we deliver to beneficiaries, was examined by the Government Cabinet Office; our application was considered among 1000+ applications and not only were we among the successful 25% but we were only one of two to be awarded the maximum grant of £100,000.
The last twelve months, therefore, has been an exciting period of growth and change for Different Strokes, with significant investment in the charity’s infrastructure, including business planning, evaluation practice, marketing, HR, IT systems and staffing structure.
- We are stronger, more sustainable and resilient due to changes made to our operating model/ways of working.
- We have processes/structures in place to continually look for ways to improve the way we work, forward plan and ensure ongoing success and relevance for our beneficiaries.
- We will be able to continue to provide vulnerable and disadvantaged stroke survivors and family members with high quality services in the future. We will continue to share news of developments over the coming months and welcome your thoughts and feedback, in fact we positively encourage it.
Let’s never lose sight of the fact that we are helping to ‘Reclaim Lives After Stroke’.
