Thank you to everyone who has shared their own personal stories of stroke and recovery, explaining how the stroke has impacted on them, their families and changed their lives.
You may find it helpful and encouraging to read these stories, particularly if you have shared some of the experiences and are able to identify with emotions, feelings and issues raised. Knowing that you are not alone and that other people are also rebuilding their lives after stroke can help to break down feelings of isolation. It can also be useful to read about different coping strategies that other younger stroke survivors have used.
We are often told that writing the story can be difficult but can also be a very cathartic and positive process, as it can help in reaching acceptance about what has happened and so allow the author to move forward.
